I managed to have a bit more fun today with the YuDu screen printing machine. I have been reserved with my opinion of the machine, but am quickly warming up to it. After the first go, in which I had troubles understanding the instructions, it got easier. Today was my third set of projects and it went very smoothly. I printed this Aussie logo onto a casual button-down shirt for Val. I messed up at first, and got my image in the wrong spot on the pocket - but remembered that the inks are water soluble, so just quickly put it in the washing machine. There was still a shadow after the first wash - so I rubbed some soap directly onto that shadow and ran it through again. Whaa-laa. My mistake had been forgiven and I was allowed to try again !
Val likes his shirt lots - he quickly informed me he was wearing it to work tomorrow. So with that I consider this project a success.
But he did also ask me if this was worth all the trouble. That was as I was pushing him out of the way as I rushed to the sink to rinse the paint out of the screen before it dried. My answer - well, it would be less effort if I didn't have to fight you for the sink honey. :-)
So - yes it is starting to feel like less effort. I notice that Provo Craft has a new set of frequently asked questions on the YuDu site. I looked at those and wow - those would have helped a bunch my first time around. So if you're going to be YuDu'ing - stop by that site first !
One last thing I did today - I was feeling a little left out so I made a shirt for myself.
So - are you ready to YuDu ? It's much more fun than I thought it would be !
