I found something new at the farmers market last weekend. It's a little curious looking - called bitter melon. I was dubious, but the couple next to me raved about them so I got a couple to give it a try.
Later I read up on them - evidently they are very good for you, even commonly used as medicines, but most people find the taste unpleasant. Val cooked them using this recipe. It wasn't as bad as I'd read - but still not something I'd go out of my way for at all. Val actually thought it was good. He said "I'd eat that again". Good thing babe - there's another one in the fridge.
